The tension that comes with these different kind of priorities was there to be studied and the rules and wishes of the others had to be explored for being able to work together.
At first sight, the art of El Bocho and Quintessenz couldn’t be more different. El Bocho’s artwork shows large-format, pop-up style portraits in unclouded colors. The work of Quintessenz on the other hand, is abstract and doesn’t reflect any figurative approaches. The tension that comes with these different kind of priorities was there to be studied and the rules and wishes of the others had to be explored for being able to work together. Abstract brush strokes seem to cross over figurative paintings and yet again blend in. „Betonsicht“ (german for „view of concrete“) mainly shows high-rise buildings in a colorful gown. The works aim for showing the mostly negative affected residential blocks, which are disguised because of their dreary appearance, in a new perspective. This became visible through over more than 40 independant and cooperative artworks of the three artists which the exhibition included, on an area of about 120 sqare meters.
