Only the visitors who dared to enter the interior of the cube, were able to experience the installation of a whole new angle under the influence of artificial light, illuminating and merging with the outside world.
Every year the Splash Festival offers Quintessenz the opportunity to return to their roots. Although they don’t begin to spray letters again, they more likely return to a time from which they have emerged. The collaborative working and hanging out with the other artists while listening to hip hop music reminds the duo of a time where this was almost an every day situation. Their tools have remained simple, have expanded and the spray can was also used again for this installation. Dyed and shaped reinforcing fabric strapped to neutral frames create an illuminating depth for the viewer. On such a young festival, the works of art, which were presented in cubes facing each other, nearly had a serious gallery character. Only the visitors who dared to enter the interior of the cube, were able to experience the installation of a whole new angle under the influence of artificial light, illuminating and merging with the outside world.
