Coloropolis is an on location installation measuring twenty-five by one by two meters and created at the Ferropolis site during the Splash and the Melt Festival. It consists of regular construction materials and 170 sheets of painted plaster mesh to both contrast and take up on its industrial surroundings. The former ironworks today stands calm and inactive, breathing a surreal and almost magical atmosphere. When catching a breeze, the plaster sheets slowly pulsate with the wind, countering their static environment with light-hearted easiness. By both countering and complimenting these images, we wanted to concentrate these allusions with the visitors.
