five

While creating artwork for a book publication by the Threehouse Collective, we were inspired by the book’s title “five” – a number most relevant to Quintessenz Creation. Derived from latin, our name means something like “the fifth entity” and along these lines lends our logo it’s irregular pentagon-like appearance. This shape reflects upon our group in its ever changing irregularity and constant evolution. Five artworks were created, all different but closely related at the same time. Searching for the materiality of this fifth entity, we explored and interpolated by weaving, shaping, deconstructing, sanding and scratching through and around the forgotten truths of the past and present of our own collective.
