In the cold December of 2016 Quintessenz was invited to Mauritius by the „Porlwi by Light Festival“. The festival was spread all over the Capital, Port Louis, and attracted more than 600,000 visitors. A street festival which presents various forms of art and culture, from music, to installations, to lighting sceneries. The side tower of an office building located in the heart of the city should serve Quintessenz as an area to work with. Unfortunately only one of the duo was able to travel there because of timing issues. In order to still being able to work as a team, the digital era was a great help. Tomislav filtered incisive architecture from the surroundings of the area, photographed it and provided a selection for Thomas via download. On the other side of the world, Thomas, with help of the photographs, created a composition and digital collage which he sent back to Tomislav. Meanwhile, the color concept was designed in Mauritius and selected on an emotional base. In the implementation, compostion and color concept were translated on to the wall in a picturesque and abstract form.
