For the publishers of “Berlin What?” we created a showroom within the BC Gallery to support their release party. Voluminous typography was created to leave a lasting impression with the visitors. Due to the sheer size of the showroom with a wall surface of about 200 sqm we developed an overall artwork with 90% of all lettering designed by us. These were then adjusted to match the rest of the lettering and design. The cubic space with no interior fittings received a temporary character which enveloped everyone into the project “Berlin What?” as soon as they entered the room. Following the corporate design, everything was fashioned black and white – a reduction in presence and increase in contrast at the same time. The overall design leaves enough room for the diversity of the book and still lends its grand entrance clarity and semiotics.
